The Department of International Relations was established in 2003, is a vibrant & growing entity of the faculty of Social Sciences. With an aim to provide comprehension of inter-state relations. The department has drawn the courses upon such diverse fields as economics, history, international law, political philosophy, geography, political studies, sociology, anthropology, psychology, women's studies / gender studies, area studies and cultural studies. It involves a diverse range of issues including, globalization, state sovereignty, international security, ecological sustainability, nuclear proliferation, nationalism, economic, global finance, terrorism, organized crime, human security, foreign interventionism and human rights.
The Department of International Relations is located in Iqbal Block, in the main campus of National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad, Pakistan. The Department is a center for teaching post graduate and research work across a broad range of subjects in M.Sc, M. Phil, and PhD.
The Department of International Relations offers a wide range of diverse courses for higher education and research pertaining to national and international areas. With a view to inculcate reasoning among students of International Relations the department intends to create a research oriented academic environment to enable those undertaking these courses understand, comprehend and analyze the intricate reasons behind the events happening around the world.
